Host a Wildfire Camera Site

The Oregon Hazards Lab is looking for sites in Oregon where we can install additional wildfire detection cameras. Our high-speed camera system, powered by ALERTWest, provides firefighters and first responders a new way to spot and track wildfires. There are dozens of cameras in Oregon and hundreds across western United States that can zoom, rotate, and tilt, enabling fire managers to watch the landscape, fire behavior, and weather in real-time or later through time-lapse footage.

We typically install cameras on mountaintop towers that provide a long-range, 360-degree view of the surrounding area. We have previously partnered with utilities, wireless internet service providers, cell companies, and federal and state agencies.
