Undergraduate and Graduate Student Positions
The Oregon Hazards Lab is committed to fostering student professional development through experiential learning. We most often hire University of Oregon undergraduates to work as field technicians, but also consider applicants pursuing independent research or who wish to work with our communication or systems administration branches. Although no student positions are currently open, interested University of Oregon undergraduates can respond to our general interest inquiry on Handshake. This will help us track and contact interested applicants when we are hiring in the future. All future undergraduate positions will be also posted on Handshake, this webpage, and OHAZ social media.
By helping to prepare University of Oregon students for successful pursuits after graduation, OHAZ contributes directly to the goals of Oregon Rising, the University’s new strategic framework. OHAZ student workers gain diverse skills in real-world settings, from IT networking to field deployments to science communication. These experiences directly help them to contribute, innovate, and lead in the modern workplace and to meet the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century world. After graduation, OHAZ alum have gone on to pursue graduate degrees, work for geotechnical firms, and work full-time for the lab.
